SJBC Winter Series

So, today was the third race in the annual winter series of races put on by the San Jose Bicycle Club. It's about time that I posted something about the races I've been doing!

October 12 was the prologue race for the series: 1.9 miles all-out with a hill at the end. Nothing makes you suffer like that! At the end, our lungs were burning, we had hacking coughs, and yet we still had the energy to do the climb up to Henry Coe State Park afterward. My time was 5:17.01, and Joan's was 5:21.42 (59th and 66th out of 103 respectively).

Prologue Results

October 19th was the firs individual time trial: 15.5 miles of solo suffering! The course was through the hills northwest of Morgan Hill. Afterward, we rode the course backwards with a slightly longer variation at the south end. My time was 46:38.18 and Joan's was 47:46.34.

Time Trial Results

Today was the hill climb for the series. The course was up Dunne Road from Anderson Lake to the Henry Coe park entrance. The climb is fairly tough, and sustained (minus a couple of short downhills). My time was 44:38, full results are up...
